Children's Day 2020 in Thailand

Every year Thailand celebrates “Children’s Day” which is called “Wan Dek” in Thai. They do this every second Saturday of January. This is a significant occasion in Thailand which amazes me every single time. A lot of private and government groups would prepare various fun activities across Thailand for kids on this day.

If we go to the malls, there would be special discounted prices for children’s products and they would organize fun events for children. There would be free admissions to some business establishments. I remember a few years back when my son, Daniel was still a kid, he enjoyed ice skating for FREE (this is quite expensive here) and also his dad got 50% discount admission fee. They give 50% discount for one parent who wants to accompany their children for ice skating. Cool!

Today, we celebrated advance “children’s day” at our school. Our students got to enjoy free food and fun games prepared by both teachers and parents. It is always great to see adults celebrating children and giving them special time. Here are some photos I took to remember this day. =)
