Food Theme

(UPDATE)

I thank God for the privilege to share and be a blessing to who may need these resources I am sharing here in this site. Teaching in class is just the tip of the iceberg. The longest hours we, teachers spend is the preparation before class. So I totally understand the struggle of preparing lots of things. I hope I can continually share what I know and have to somehow lighten up some loads.

Reminding myself of my personal commitment in why I am doing these things here online, and that is to ‘help teachers as much as I can and spread God’s love to everyone.’

Here is a free downloadable PowerPoint for “Food” theme. It includes introduction of 9 vocabulary words: rice, chicken, beans, egg, bread, fish, water, candy and milk. It has some games included and a review slide. This PowerPoint can also be useful for online class. I have used these slides for my online class with my ESL kindergarteners using the Microsoft Teams platform.

HANDS-ON ACTIVTY

Here is a play dough mat for “My Favorite Food” topic. I have done this in my class and my kids do love this. This can be a good conversation starter for ESL kindergarteners. They get to enjoy making the food they like and at the same time talk about it with their teacher. =)
