Letter C

Here’s another set of free resources and this time for teaching letter C. =) The background plan for this lesson was intended for ESL/EFL kindergartners. If you would like to use the resources here, feel free to adapt the materials according to your students’ level.

Also, I have used a wonderful website for this lesson which I would like to share with you. They offer a lot of great free resources for teaching Phonics, Reading and I think Math too. This website is called Starfall.com.

The PowerPoint presentation for this lesson involves the following: (1) Introduction of upper case and lower case letter C; (2) introduction of the words that begin with the /c/ sound; (3) search for letter C; (4) matching upper case and lower case letter C; (5) vocabulary words – comprehension check; (5) sound discrimination by crossing out the picture without the /c/ sound; (6) reading practice with sight words; (7) writing practice – letter C; and lastly, (7) Homework to reinforce learning. Later, I will be showing here a video that will reflect how I used these materials in teaching letter C online through Zoom.
